More from the Lakes

Back from the Lake District but while looking over my pictures on the train journey, I realised that some were not to my liking as the Ricoh JPGs are not that great nor did I want to spend time fiddling with the JPGs.
This is why I decided to take a few pictures and have a look if I can get them to look better by processing the RAW files. My aim was not to go overboard but to keep them as natural as possible but improving on some of the JPGs I posted. Shame there is no RAW Therapee available for Android or I could process my pictures better when away.

So I hope you are not too bored by landscape shots and can do with a few extra pictures.

Views from the Lakes – Day 1

After a 3 hour train journey, I arrived at the Lake district in Windermere,  from there a boat journey to Ambleside and a walk to the falls here.

I took the GXR A12-M with CV 12mm lens for the landscapes,  the Ricoh GR lens for street photography and the Jupiter-8 lens for when I need to get closer.

At first look the Lake District reminds me a lot of Scotland but not quite as green and the lakes are not quite as big as the lochs.

Silverstone Classic 2012

Went to Silverstone to see the Classic Car 2012 event, it was a great day and the first real day of summer. I took the GXR with Heliar 15mm and Leica 90mm lens along. People always say you can’t do sports photography without having a dSLR and fast AF but the focus is at infinity anyway and the rest you just need some practice with panning shots which also work fine with using the screen.

It was great to see some 80s classics like the Countach, the F40, Testarossa, Porsche 911 and the Lotus Esprit. The races were also fun and very loud depending on the cars on the track.
